Architecture Workshop

Posted on: 14th Oct 2019

During mental health week we were lucky to have a visitor from Architecture Workshops. We started off by taking small sticks and we learnt how to join them into triangles using elastic bands. We then added more sticks to create a triangular based pyramid. Then we got in to groups of 6 and we discussed what type of shelter we wanted to build. We thought about whether it needed to be off the ground, windproof and enough space for all of us to sleep. Then, we had great fun building the structures using wood and elastic bands, using triangle shapes for strength. It was really good fun! At the end we tested our structures - some withstood the wind (simulated by the teacher shaking our shelters!) and some fell down!
