Welcome Old Reds

We are in the process of building our Alumni community, with a view to sharing news, building connections and possibly hosting future events.  We would like to connect with past pupils, to hear your memories of school life and your story beyond the prep school years.  It is always a proud moment when we say farewell to our Year Six pupils at our Annual Prizegiving Event.  As each year group moves on to the secondary stage of their education and beyond, we would like to stay connected, unearth, share and celebrate the rich history of a school established in 1932.

For data protection purposes, alumni registration is only open to past students over the age of 18.

Our FS1 pupils had great fun in PE exploring all the different ways their bodies can move, from slithering snakes to snappy crabs and slow, heavy bears. They then took their new movements onto the equipment, travelling over benches and box tops with brilliant creativity.— WGPS () Nov 20, 2025

Class 1P enjoyed another session of hands-on Forest School. They learned about hedgehog shelters and worked together to build their own cosy hedgehog home. The children loved a fun leaf parachute game, taking turns to guess who was hibernating underneath!     — WGPS () Nov 19, 2025

This morning, the whole school came together to observe a two-minute silence in remembrance of those who have served. Each child wore a personalised poppy they had made themselves, a symbol of respect and reflection. This year, our Remembrance assembly focuses on the theme “Service Not Self,” reminding us of the courage and selflessness of those who have served.       — WGPS () Nov 11, 2025

Today, we were delighted to welcome Mrs Rachna Carron, Deputy Head Pastoral at Woodford County High School, who spoke to our Year 5 and 6 pupils about life at Woodford County High and the many exciting opportunities the school offers. Pupils learned about Woodford’s strong sense of community and rich heritage, as well as the creative spirit that shines through in events such as the House Drama Production Competition. They also discovered the impressive range of extra-curricular clubs, all designed to help pupils grow in confidence and curiosity. It was an inspiring visit that encouraged our pupils to aim high and embrace every opportunity ahead. A big thank you to Mrs Carron for sharing her time, advice, and enthusiasm with us!               — WGPS () Oct 16, 2025

The WGPS Netball League has got off to a fantastic start this term, with 30 children from Years 5 and 6, both boys and girls, taking part. We’ve hosted Churchfields, Avon House and St Antony’s, and it’s been wonderful to see everyone enjoying the friendly competition within our local community. The uptake in our morning netball club has been phenomenal, with over 50 children attending this week alone, including more boys than ever before! We are so proud of our younger players. Several Year 3 pupils have joined the Essex Open Development Squad. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 have been selected for the Essex Open Performance Squad, already competing in Saturday matches. One of our pupils has been selected to play for London Pulse, training at the Chigwell School Hub, an incredible achievement! It’s brilliant to see so many of our pupils embracing netball, developing their skills, and achieving success both in and beyond school!         — WGPS () Oct 15, 2025

Thank you to all the admissions teams from visiting schools, as well as to the parents, who helped make our first 11+ Admissions Fair such a success. Hawkey Hall was buzzing with conversation and questions, and we hope the event proved both enjoyable and valuable for everyone involved. We are already looking forward to building on this success and making the fair an annual event. We hope to see you all again next year!       — WGPS () Oct 9, 2025
