Wellbeing Week

Posted on: 10th Dec 2019

Wellbeing week was held in the Autumn term and we embraced five aspects of maintaining our own wellbeing using the key words of Active, Connect, Give, Learn and Mindful.

Children and adults took part in extra playtimes where everyone was able to play together, we had yoga workshops for EYFS and Key stage 1 and Architecture workshops for Year 2 upwards. In class, children took part in visualisations, mindfulness colouring and they tried out some yoga storytelling with Cosmic kids.

There was a wonderful buzz about the School and it was great to hear from the children that the best bit of the extra playtime was skipping with Mrs Beer and Mr Wadge, playing sticky toffee with Mrs Prior and when Mr Wadge scored a goal! It goes to show the value of play and how much both children and adults value having time to connect with one another.

The yoga sessions were relaxing for adults and children alike, with some great ideas to take back into classes. The children made a big effort to be active and care for the environment with the cycle to school challenge and on Friday, the week culminated in the WGPS Danceathon for Haven House.

What an enjoyable week we have had and we hope to continue with some of the initiatives in the future.
