The Red School Goes Red for Comic Relief

Posted on: 15th Mar 2019

As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Red Nose Day brings the entire nation together to ‘do something funny for money.’ WGPS decided to get involved again this year and help raise money for this cause. This was a ‘wear it red’ day for children and staff and also for the children’s entertainment there was a very special, surprise assembly in the morning - a staff lip synch battle. Mrs Bacon returned as a special guest to host and she did an excellent job. We also had three excellent judges, with Mrs Denmark, Mr Neagle and Mr Southey offering their scores out of 10. The contestants pulled out all the stops with some excellent performances, from the Greatest Showman to the Lion King to Baby Shark. The winning performance went to S-Club 7, although the competition was close right until the very end. It was a fantastic event and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition to all of this, we sold Red Noses and collected donations at the brilliant spring concert.

We are proud to have raised a total of £1243.46

You may also be pleased to know that the three giant sharks were successfully re-homed and much appreciated by all at ELHAP, in Woodford Bridge.
